MARK MACKEY, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mackey is a 1982 graduate of Kansas State University, with a degree in animal science. That was the year he joined LMA as a region executive officer, covering Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska. In 1997, he joined LMA’s management team.
In September 2003, he was named CEO on an interim basis, and in February 2004, was named CEO. In a recent interview, he talked about the people LMA represents in the marketing sector. Market operators, he said, “are innovators in technology, genetics and marketing itself. Producers can and should draw on the knowledge of these marketers. Because of their knowledge, it’s important that marketers be at the table to discuss, with other organizations, issues we have in common.”
VINCENT NOWAK, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Born in Nebraska, Nowak grew up in Iowa and Kansas. He joined LMA as assistant CFO in 1997, and became CFO in 2003. Prior to joining LMA, he was the CFO for Walden and Sons Food Brokers, Inc., in Overland Park, Kan. He also worked as a Certified Public Accountant in tax accounting for a local CPA firm.
Nowak attended Kansas State University, and got his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Kansas in 1973. After graduating from KU, he studied accounting at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. Nowak said his primary after-work activities are cycling, hiking, and following the sports activities of his two children, Jacob and Rachel. |

Patty joined LMA in 2006 after relocating to Missouri with her husband Ken. A native of California, Patty has over 20 years of accounting and administrative experience. Patty currently handles the creation of Property and Casualty Invoices, tracking and posting payments received, and various accounting duties towards the closure of monthly and annual accounting cycles. Along with Ken, Patty is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and loves cruising the beautiful Midwest countryside whenever possible.
NEAL BROSNAN, FACILITIES MANAGER

Neal Brosnan joined LMA in 1990 and today has over thirty-five years experience in property management. Neal serves as the Facilities Manager for the LMA headquarters located in Kansas City and is responsible for all LMA shipping and receiving. The father of four with two grandsons; he enjoys the outdoors and occasionally makes time to judge local BBQ competitions. Neal is also known as the “Grill Master” for the LMA team.

Jan is a native of Eastern Kansas where she grew up and attended school. Joining the work force in 1969 following high school graduation, Jan began working for LMA, then known as the Certified Livestock Markets Association in the insurance agency under General Manager Karl Heimke. Jan worked as a livestock claims clerk until 1976 when she shifted gears and became an assistant to the Region Executive Officers, a position she still fills today. Through the years, Jan has learned a variety of jobs from assisting on the switchboard, backing up computer staff, managing the accounts and records service, assisting in HR matters and serving as overall administrative assistant to LMA management. Jan cherishes the LMA family atmosphere and the team spirit encouraged by Mr. Mackey. She especially enjoys getting to know and working with her accounts and records customers.
BRANDI CLIFFORD, ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Brandi Clifford is a 2000 graduate of Maple Woods Community College, Kansas City, Missouri, with an Associate of Arts degree. Her work in the insurance industry began in 2002 as a Technical Assistant at Arthur J. Gallagher; working her way up to an Account Coordinator where she earned her Associate in Insurance Services in 2005. Brandi joined LMIA in 2006 as an Assistant Region Administrator and will be earning her Customer Service Insurance Representative (CISR) designation at the end of 2008. Brandi has now joined the accounting department full time and is an accounting assistant. She handles all posting of receivables and assists with P/C invoicing. She also works with membership services by keeping up the membership database and dues. Brandi also assists with the accounts payable task. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with husband Jason and their two children Joshua and Gracelyn.

Sharon joined the LMA family in 1983 and will celebrate 25 years of service in 2008. As the friendly voice of LMA she maintains the LMA switchboard, answering calls and greeting visitors. LMA’s members are very important to Sharon and helping them properly is her main goal. Devoted to her family and two grandsons; just ask and she would be happy to brag about all of their activities.

J. Lea Jones is a native Kansas City girl. Following her passion for numbers she has worked in accounting since 1976. She started with LMA as a receivable & billing clerk for the insurance agency in 1987. In 2005 she was promoted to Senior Accountant and now holds the position of Accounting Supervisor. Attending to the company’s financial preparations and overseeing the accounting department are her main responsibility. She enjoys visiting with customers and helping them with questions regarding their accounts. At home she takes care of her pack of five active labs, enjoys her multitude of grandchildren and loves vacationing any where on the back of a Harley motorcycle.

A Pennsylvania native, Richardson graduated from California State College, Hayward and entered the workforce in California as a legal administrative assistant. She continued in the legal field for 10 years, eventually as a paralegal, after re-locating to Kansas. Later, Richardson joined Donnelly Meiners Jordan Kline, a local Kansas City accounting firm which was eventually acquired by H& R Block then merged into the national firm of RSM McGladrey. As Office Administrator/HR Administrator for 13 years, Richardson gained extensive experience in office management as well as labor law and compliance issues.
Richardson joined LMA in July 2005 as Director of Human Resources and administers HR functions including payroll, benefits, performance management, policy development and HR legal compliance.

Doug began his tenure with LMA in1996. He supports and manages the in-house computer and telephone networks and is presently working toward Microsoft and Cisco certifications. Doug attended Mid America Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, studying Business Administration and Music. Before coming to LMA he worked in the banking and manufacturing industries. Doug resides in Olathe with his loving wife and two beautiful sons. In his personal time he is involved in church, sports, scouting and school activities with his family and plays in a jazz group as time permits. |

Nancy grew up in Kansas and received her bachelors and masters degrees from Fort Hays University in Hays, Kansas. She worked for a number of years in Washington DC as a congressional staff aide and political appointee at USDA in food safety and animal health agencies. In 1989, Nancy joined LMA as the Vice President for Government & Industry Affairs, representing the LMA membership and the marketing industry on all federal legislative and regulatory matters. She also provides support to the region executive officers on state legislative and regulatory matters.

Former Congressman Stenholm, a Senior Policy Advisor at the Washington DC based public policy law firm of Olsson, Frank and Weeda, has represented LMA on federal legislative matters since 2006. Born in Stamford, Texas, Mr. Stenholm graduated from Tarleton State Junior College and Texas Tech University. He also has received honorary Doctor of Law degrees from Abilene Christian, Hardin-Simmons, and McMurry Universities. Before being elected to the House of Representatives from the 17th District of Texas, Mr. Stenholm operated a cotton farm. Mr. Stenholm was a member of the House Committee on Agriculture throughout his 26-year House career, serving as the Committee’s ranking Democrat for eight years. He earned a reputation for building bipartisan alliances in areas as diverse as agriculture, resource conservation, food safety, Social Security, energy, health care, and budget. |

Ernie has been practicing law since 1978. He has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Ernie has written articles and been a seminar speaker on agricultural law topics for The Missouri Bar and the American Agricultural Law Association. In addition, he is the author of a chapter on the marketing of farm products in a farm law book published by The Missouri Bar. He is a retired Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He and his wife, Linda, have four children. He grew up on a grain, cotton and livestock farm in southeast Missouri.

Gerry has been practicing law since 1980. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the state of Missouri, the U.S. District Court—Western District, and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th circuits. Gerry has had articles published in the Agricultural Law Journal and the Journal of the Missouri Bar and has been the lead attorney in a number of published appellate cases. Joyce English came to LMA in 1988 as an underwriter for the insurance division, and later, became a Business Information Officer in the Livestock Board of Trade. English brought with her licensed knowledge of the insurance and securities industries. Advancing her career in 2003, English was appointed as Vice President of the Livestock Board of Trade. Raised in a farmer-auctioneer family setting those rural life values reinforce her leadership and service to LMA members. English enjoys many artistic endeavors and entertains future plans as a novelist.

Garner spent most of her career in the legal profession, as a legal secretary, paralegal and office manager before returning to work for LMA a second time in 1987 where she served as assistant to the then CEO of LMA. She held the position of Meetings & Events Coordinator, planning LMA business meetings and social functions including the WLAC for 17 years. For the past 4 years, she has served as a Business Information Officer of the Livestock Board of Trade. Garner has a B.A. degree from San Diego State University where she majored in Education with a minor in Theatre Arts and was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority.

Hamilton was raised in central Missouri farming and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating in 1985 with a B.S. in Agriculture. He joined LMA in May of 1985 as a Region Executive Officer servicing the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa; later adding Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin to his region. In July of 2004 he joined the Livestock Marketing Insurance Agency management team as Vice President and was named President in July of 2005.

Aiman graduated from Avila University in 1989 with a bachelors degree in General Management. In 2002, she earned an MBA in Management Information Systems from alma mater Avila University, Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to joining Livestock Marketing Association in December 2003, she worked at Meara, Welch & Browne, a local CPA firm, from September 1991 until December 2003 in various positions including staff member in the business valuation department focusing on lost profit calculations and valuing privately held businesses. Currently, she serves LMA as Vice President of the Livestock Marketing Insurance Agency, Inc. She is married to Alex Aiman and has twin daughters Alexis and Madison Aiman who are engaged in premier soccer. When she isn’t traveling for soccer, she enjoys being with her family, the outdoors, and watching the Food Network channel.

Jennie joined LMA right out of high school in July 1979 as an accounting assistant for the Membership and Insurance departments. In 1982, she moved to the insurance agency to handle livestock policies and claims in the Livestock Department. She earned her Property & Casualty License in 1986 and was promoted to Region Administrator in July 1997, handling the accounts in 10 states for two Region Executive Officers. In 2005 she became Co-Manager of the insurance agency and currently manages accounts in 13 states for 3 Region Executive Officers.

Christine obtained her Property/Casualty/Life/Health Insurance License in 1986 working in personal lines for State Farm Insurance. Wanting the challenge that comes with working in commercial insurance, she began her career with LMIA in 1990 as an assistant administrator in the eastern region. In 1993, Christine was promoted to Region Administrator over Kansas and Colorado. A few years later she added the state of Texas to her territory. She is currently a Region Manager handling Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas while acting as a Co-Manager with Jennie Jones over the department.

Kathy Claus is a native of Kansas City. Prior to joining Livestock Marketing Insurance Agency she gained commercial policy experience while working with the Country Companies Insurance Company. Kathy still works with members and insureds of LMIA, utilizing her extensive experience with claims processing and livestock policies.

Kristen Parman is a native of Buffalo, Missouri, where she was raised in the livestock and livestock marketing industry. Growing up on a commercial cow-calf operation in southwest Missouri, working with the family livestock trucking company and the local livestock auction market has given her a well rounded view of the livestock industry and the importance of seeing an issue or service from the perspective of all sizes of operations. A 2001 graduate of Missouri State University, she spent time with LMA as an intern in the membership services department before earning her Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Business. Following graduation, Kristen returned to LMA to assume the role of Membership Services Coordinator. In 2003, she was appointed Vice President Membership Services. Kristen enjoys the close contact that her position allows her to have with the LMA membership and believes that it’s the relationships between the LMA staff and membership that is the key to current and future success and protection for the livestock marketing industry.

Cathy grew up on a small farm in southwest Iowa and is a 1997 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business. That same year she joined LMA as the coordinator for the Agribase Communications Network (ACN). Cathy is now a key team member on multiple LMA member services including the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship, LMAAuctions.com, LMAWeb.com, and works with the membership services team to assist and answer our member’s questions about utilizing LMA’s book of member services.

Jeahn joined the LMA staff in June 2009 shortly after graduating from Kansas State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in International Agribusinsess. She was raised in a military family and has spent a large amount of time in Leavenworth, Kansas, at her family’s ranch raising and showing horses. As a Wildcat she was involved with the KSU Women’s Equestrian Team and is a proud member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. McBride, a native Iowan, graduated in 1970 from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Prior to joining LMA, he worked as a reporter/editor at the Omaha World-Herald and for six years was regional information officer with the Kansas City office of the Federal Trade Commission. McBride joined LMA in 1976. He is the principal media spokesman for the Association. He also writes the LMA Daily News Briefing that is emailed to members and appears on the LMA website, www.lmaweb.com. He also writes LMA InfoLink, faxed to members twice a month, LMA’s news releases, and over the years, has written a wide variety of promotional material for LMA’s subsidiary companies. He is also the principal speech writer for LMA’s elected officers. |

ROY BARTA, REGION EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Roy Barta is a native of Nebraska and attended Chadron State College. Roy’s roots in the livestock industry served him well as a Brand Inspector with the State of Nebraska from 1980-1990. In 1990 he began work with North Platte Feeders handling the yard’s accounting. Roy worked briefly with the Maywood Cooperative in North Platte as a Facilities Manager and Assistant Grain Originator before joining the LMA family in 1993. Roy now resides in North Platte along with his wife and represents LMA and its members in the states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
JIM CARTER, REGION EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Born in Mississippi, Carter grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from
Mississippi State University in 1976 he returned as third generation to the family livestock market. When growth in Memphis "consumed" the South Memphis Stockyards, he served as Executive of the Tennessee Beef Council for five years before joining LMA in 1991 as a region executive officer. Jim now resides in Walls, Mississippi, and represents LMA and its members in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee. When he is home, Jim enjoys outdoor activities, which include working on his small farm, hunting, and fishing. Jim notes, "It is terribly satisfying working with an organization dedicated to helping an industry, where my roots are so deep."

Born and raised in Southeast Texas, Jesse Carver is a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science. In January of 1999, he started work for Jim Schwertner and Capitol Land and Livestock; a large livestock dealership in Central Texas. Jesse began his career as yard manager for Capitol and then spent 9 years as a buyer purchasing stocker and feeder cattle at daily auctions across Texas and Oklahoma. This is where Jesse says he began getting his “real education” in the livestock marketing industry. In August of 2007, he joined LMA as a region executive officer representing LMA and its members in Texas. He feels that the lessons learned as a buyer help him to better relate to market owners and livestock dealers within his region. Jesse currently resides in Montgomery, Texas, with his wife and son where he enjoys hunting, fishing, cooking and maintaining a stocker and feeder cattle operation.
TERRY CHAPMAN, REGION EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Terry Chapman was born and raised in Haskell, Texas. Growing up working with his family’s farm and ranch, he worked at the local livestock auction during high school along with his dad, mom, brothers and sister. Terry worked his way through college working for the Texas A&M Agricultural Experiment Station and as salesman for the Southwestern Company. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1975 with a BS degree in Agricultural Economics. In 1977, Terry joined LMA as a region executive officer and currently represents LMA and its members in Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Terry and his wife Ruth make their home in Norman, Oklahoma, along with their two daughters, Haylee and Caroline. In 2007, Terry was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame. Now he enjoys watching his girls play soccer.

Chip Chipman is a New Mexico native and attended New Mexico State University. He worked for 10 years with the New Mexico Livestock Board before joining LMA in 1982. Residing in Stephenville, Texas, Chip represents LMA and its members in the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

Jeff Hazaleus is a native of Wheatland, Wyoming. He attended the Howard County Community College in Big Spring, Texas, earning a rodeo scholarship for calf roping and team roping. After two years in Big Spring, Jeff transferred to Oklahoma State University where he continued his involvement with the rodeo team and earned a degree in Agricultural Education. Graduating in 2002, Jeff went to work for Austin Cattle Co. in Ringling, Oklahoma, as a cattle order buyer. He remained there for the next four years until joining LMA in July of 2006 as a Field Executive Officer. In January 2007, Jeff became the Region Executive Officer for LMA in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Jeff still enjoys roping, and anything that has to do with the outdoors. One thing you can count on, if you see his trusty canine companion “Sally”, Jeff won’t be far behind.

John Kissee is a Missouri native who grew up in a marketing family that goes back four generations. Most recently his grandfather and father operated livestock markets in Arkansas and Missouri. John worked as an employee at his father’s commission company while in high school and then went on to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received his B.S. in Agriculture in 1979 and Masters of Education in 1980. After joining LMA in 1981, John moved to Atlanta to work in the southeastern United States. He currently represents LMA and its members in the Atlantic Seaboard from Florida to Maine. John is married with three children and two grandchildren and lives in Woodstock, Georgia.

Forrest Mangan is a California native. Forrest grew up in a small town in north central California before attending San Joaquin Delta College. Transferring to Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, he graduated with a degree in Agribusiness with a concentration in International Management. Following graduation, Forrest was employed by the Cal Poly Animal Science Department where he served as the Livestock Judging Coach and was a part-time lecturer. Forrest joined LMA in 2006 and currently resides in California; representing LMA and it membership in the states of California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
