Missing, Strayed or Stolen Livestock — Missouri — 12/20/2007
LBT has learned of 15 - 20 head of cattle missing from Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, since December 19, 2007. They were Charolais and Limousin Cross and Red Limousin heifers, one black Angus bull, and one small white cow. All heifers should be bred to the black Angus bull. They weighed between 800 and 1000 pounds. The cream colored heifers and some red heifers had two big notches out of the left ear. The rest of the red heifers have a small notch out of the tip of the right ear. All would have either a yellow, green or white ear tag. The bull was about a 3 year old weighing approximately 1200-1300 pounds with a green ear tag. The small white cow still had a calf on her, but the calf was left behind. LBT has learned of 10 head of cattle missing from Hayneville, Alabama, sometime between December 17 and December 19, 2007. They are crossbred steers weighing between 450 and 500 pounds that were bought about two weeks ago. They have a 2 branded on their left hip. LBT has learned of a bull missing from Winfield, Cowley County, Kansas, since December 11, 2007. He is a Maine Anjou bull weighing 2000 pounds and is 8 years old. LBT has learned of 2 head of cattle missing from El Reno, Oklahoma, since December 2, 2007. They were 2 red Limousin yearling calves, 1 steer and 1 heifer weighing between 500 and 600 pounds. LBT has learned of 5 head of calves missing from near Shidler, Osage County, Oklahoma, since December 3, 2007. They were black or black baldy steers or heifers. There also could be one dark solid Charolais cross. They were in medium condition weighing 460 to 525 pounds just weaned around a week ago. They have a swallow fork notch in the right ear and a under bit notch in the left hear. They had red fly tags in both ears. LBT has learned of 20 head of cattle missing from four miles south of Greensboro, Alabama, since early morning hours of November 26, 2007. They were mixed steers weighing between 600 and 700 pounds. The majority of them have an A branded on the right hip and the others not branded have an ear notch in the right ear. LBT has learned of 18 head of cattle missing from Lawton, Grady County, Oklahoma, since October 31, 2007. There were 2 bulls, 7 mixed cows and 9 calves. One bull is a registered black bull with a L brand on the right hip. Dr. Dupler Cret, a vet from Temple, Oklahoma, has the tattoo info in the ears. The 7 cows and one black bull have a Quarter Circle over B brand on the left hip. The calves have no identification. Missing, Strayed or Stolen Livestock — Wyoming — 11/14/2007
LBT has learned of 130 sheep missing from Wyoming since the summer of 2007. There were 50 ewes, 50 lambs and 30 yearlings. They are white in color, Columbia/Rambouillet cross. Swallow fork on the tag in the right ear and a mule shoe brand on the tag in the left ear. They are branded with a mule shoe on the left side. LBT has learned of 18 head of cattle missing from Clearview, Oklahoma, since November 4 or 5. They were weaning heifers approximately 500 to 600 pounds. LBT has learned of 12 head of cattle missing from Potter County, Texas, since October 28, 2007. There were seven steers or heifers “Charolais” and five black or black baldy cows. All are branded with a S with Bar running perpendicular off bottom of S on the left hip. The calves may have other brands above the SBar brand. The cows will also have a year brand. LBT has learned of 4 head of cattle missing from Pratt, Pratt County, Kansas, since October 18, 2007. They are black cows with one red and one white ear tag in separate ears. Each tag has ID numbers. LBT has learned of 7 head of cattlem missing from Crawford County, Missouri, since October 24, 2007. There were six black Angus heifers weighing between 500 and 600 pounds and 15 to 20 months old. They had two orange ear tags in each ear with numbers 31-37. There was one registered black Angus 18 month old bull. He has tattoos in his ears. LBT has learned of 3 head of cattle missing from Maple Hill, Wabaunsee County, Kansas, since October 29, 2007. They were Angus or Angus/Black Simmental Cross cows. They were 2 year old and mainly black. They had calves left behind. There was an RH brand on the lower right hip with a number brand on the upper right hip (S250, S251 or S255). Missing, Strayed or Stolen Livestock — Missouri — 10/05/2007
LBT has learned of sixteen Charolais calves (450 lbs. average weight)and one white older cow missing, strayed or stolen sometime between September 27 and October 1, 2007 in Dade County, South Greenfield, MO from an 80 acre field with a barn and loading pen. Indviduals cut through a fend and drove a truck and trailer. LBT has also learned that during the same time frame, seventeen Charolais calves also in Dade County, MO are missing, strayed or stolen from a field with a barn and loading pen. LBT has learned of one Equine Gelding missing from Charleston, Elko County Nevada since August 31, 2007. It is two years old, buckskin in color and has a Y inverted reverse Y brand on left stifle. They were brown/black spots Holstein & Jersey Cross yearlings, all weighing approximately 700 pounds. The six steers were horned and the two heifers were dehorned. LBT has learned of 13 head of cattle missing from Eufala, McIntosh County, Oklahoma, since August 5, 2007. They were black Angus/Brangus cows between 5 and 6 years. They have a Lazy F on left or right hip at the top of hip at the 10 o’clock position. The fence was cut off the county road to gain access to the property. Missing, Strayed or Stolen Livestock — Iowa — 8/1/2007
LBT has learned of 2 head of cattle missing from Arlington, Iowa, since July 31, 2007. They are two registered purebred Holstein heifers, bred to calve in September. Both animals weigh approximately 1500 pounds and have metal tags in the right ear as required by the state. One also has a blue tag in the left ear with the name Jeanette and a date of birth. The cattle were last seen Friday morning and were missed Tuesday morning. Approximate value is $3000 each. A vehicle was seen in the area, however the only description is a two-toned pickup pulling a silver trailer. LBT has learned of a horse missing from Stinnett, Hutchison County, Texas, since July 11, 2007. It is a 12 year old grey quarter horse gelding standing 15 hands and weighing approximately 1200 pounds. There is a Figure 4 brand on the left hip, a Five brand on the left butt and a Lazy J Upside Down brand on the left hip. The horse was raised at Haythorn Land and Cattle, Arhur, N.B. LBT has learned of livestock trailer taken from McAlester, Oklahoma, on July 18, 2007. It is a 14 foot WW reddish brown bumper pull trailer. A late 1990s white extended cab Dodge 1 ton flatbed with fender skirts truck was seen hitching up to it. The driver was slender, about 6 foot 1, 30ish, with a long mustache. Missing, Strayed or Stolen Livestock — Iowa — 7/2/2007
LBT has learned of110 to 120 hogs missing from Iowa Select Farms near Sac City, Iowa, between noon Sunday, July 1 and 6:30 am, Monday, July 2, 2007. They are barrows and gilts and weigh 250 pounds. They will be mostly white with about 5 to 10 percent being red, red mix or black & white. From tracks, it looks like they were loaded in a gooseneck trailer. LBT has learned of 4 head of heifers missing from Osage City, Lyon County, Kansas, since midnight on June 27, 2007. There is one blue roan Holstein cross, one Holstein, one black white face Holstein and Hereford cross and one black Holstein and Jersey cross. They had no tags and were 200 to 300 pounds. LBT has learned of 6 cow/calf pairs missing from Dade County, Missouri, in the last ten days. The calves were between 4 and 5 weeks old and are mostly bull calves. The cows are 5 to 7 years old and weigh around 1200 pounds. There is 1 pure black Angus, 1 all tan Charolais/Limousin cross, 1 solid reddish/brown Charolais/Limousin cross, and 2 brown baldy brown with white speckled faces. There is also 1 red with white face Hereford/Limousin cross that has a faded H with a Hook on top of left leg of the H brand on left upper hip. The cattle were last counted ten days ago. LBT has learned of 2 head of cattle missing from Avondale, Colorado, since May 30, 2007. The were a registered Longhorn bull and cow, aged 3 and 9. The cow is a large gruella cow with modest horns and Dickenson branded. The bull is very gentle weighing 1600 to 2000 pounds. He had level horns with large base and was red, white, brindle. LBT has learned of 85 head of cattle missing from Rachel, Lincoln County, Nevada, since April 15, 2007. They were English cows, 3 to 5 years, black, red and broc in color. The cattle were put together in Montana in the fall of 2006 so they have various ear marks and Montana brands. All cows have an orange ear tag in the left ear with the Open Triangle Brand on the ear tag. Cattle were reironed and the iron is peeling. LBT has learned of a 3 head of cattle missing from the Spencer Livestock Sales in Spencer, Iowa, since May 28, 2007. There was a purebred black Angus 3 year old bull weighing 1750-1850 pounds. He had an orange ear tag in the right ear with #20 and a white ear tag in the left ear with “Elvis” inked in black. There was a brown Jersey breeding heifer weighing 950-1050 pounds with no tags. There was a red Longhorn/beef cross heifer weighing 800-850 pounds. Her horns were 12+ inches long and not tipped. The livestock was loaded out on a tractor trailer. LBT has learned of a 53 head of cattle missing from Cuba, Republic County, Kansas, since May 15, 2007. There were 31 black Angus cows between 8 to 12 years old and 22 calves that are fairly young. Nine of the cows may have calved by now. Calves weigh between 300 to 500 pounds. Calves had clip style calfhood tags in left ear with the Belleville Vet Clinic on back of tags. The cows were branded with a RW brand on right rib and /or H upside down J on left hip and/or backwards upside down J with O on left hip. He has a yellow ear tag with a black #88 in the right ear and also has #722 tattoos in both ears. He is a very gentle bull and can be easily led with a bucket of corn. It is a 6-year-old green broke sorrel gelding with three white sox (left front and both rear) and flaxen mane and tail. He also shows some roaning in the rear flanks and the hooves on the white legs have a striped appearance. There is no brand. LBT has learned of 5 feeder calves missing from Kingman, Kansas, since Sunday night, December 17, 2006. The calves were Angus-Hereford cross weighing 600 pounds. There were two black heifers, two black steers and one black motley-faced steer. One heifer was calfhooded on Saturday with tattoo number 48VKU9631. All calves have ear notches at the tips of both ears. They also had ear tags cut out of both ears on Saturday and after they were taken. LBT has learned of 61 head of mixed color steers missing from the Brookover Cattle Company, Scott City, Kansas, since October 28, 2006. They were 630 pounds and could have back tags “64 MS” on them. They were originally out of Alabama and Mississippi and described as cattle from a livestock market. The Kansas Livestock Association is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person/persons involved. LBT has learned of 28 head of cattle missing from Arapahoe, Wyoming, since October 22, 2006. There were bulls, cows and calves described as red and red & white Herefords, black & white baldies and brockled-faced Limousins, 7 months old to 8 years old. They all have large green ear tags but no ear markings and dehorned. Cows and calves have a T/R brand on the right side. Bulls have a Triangle over D Lazy M brand. These cattle were located in an open range area which conflicts with a residential neighborhood. Cattle possibly moved to a different location without owner’s knowledge. There were five Charolais calves, white in color. They had green ear tags in the left ear with possible numbers of 55, 69, 118, 126 and 128. They all had a HLB Connected brand on the right rib. LBT has learned of 99 head of cattle missing from the northwest area of Audrain County, Missouri, sometime in the overnight hours of September 18, 2006. There were 55 adult cows and 43 calves of varying size and color. They are a variety of Angus and shorthorn cows and calves most colored red and white and some black. All cows will be tattooed in both ears on the inside top rivet with the letters “RVM” and will have either a blue or green ear tag. The calves are not tattooed but will have a matching ear tag to their mothers. Also, there is a red and yellow Gelbvieh bull weighing approximately 2000 pounds. It needed to be repainted. One Charolais has a black #16 tag, another has black #18 tag. Nine Charolais heifers weigh 950 to 1000 pounds. Four heifers have blue tags with three numbers. LBT has learned of 21 head of calves missing from Lockwood, Dade County, Missouri, since between Saturday afternoon July 1 and Monday morning July 3, 2006. They were an average of 400-500 pounds and had a blue fly tag in their right ear. There would be a few more steers than heifers, but almost 50/50. There were 18 Charolais cross, yellow/white in color with a few snowballs, and 3 Gelbvieh cross, dark gray to black in color. LBT has learned of 13 head of cattle missing from Moscow, Cedar County, Iowa, since April 7 and 15, 2006. They were all Holsteins steers with black- and white-colored hides. The steers all weighed about 1,000 pounds and some had ear tags, either green or blue. The thefts occurred at two separate times. A total of eight Holstein steers were stolen on Friday, April 7, 2006. When the owner checked his cattle on Saturday, April 8, he discovered a chain used to lock the gate had been cut. He did not replace the chain until Saturday, April 15. During the week of April 8 to 15, five more steers were taken. LBT has learned of 23 head of cattle taken from the Olean Livestock Market on April 4, 2006. The person used a fake cashier’s check to pay for the cattle. The cashier’s check was made to look like an official one from US Bank out of St. Roberts, Missouri, but had an invalid routing number. The man was described as short and stocky with a dark beard. He also came to the auction with a wife and kids. The cattle were 1 black male, 2 Charolais cow/calf pairs, 4 BWF cow/calf pairs, 1 black heifer, 2 mixed heifers, 5 black cows, 2 yellow cows, 3 BWF cows, 1 RWF cow and 2 red cows. When he checked on the cows at 8 a.m. on April 14, the cow had calved but no calf could be found in the pasture. The calf is a Simmental and is red-hided, or red with some white on it. LBT has learned of 63 head of cattle missing from the XCL Feedyard at Hereford, Texas, in the over night hours of April 9-10, 2006. There were 40 head of mixed breed bulls weighing 500 to 550 pounds. These bulls had been worked on April 9, 2006, horns tipped and BANDED, no brands. Two of the bulls were castrated and were heavy bleeders. All of the horns were heavy bleeders. There were also 23 head of mixed breed steers with no brand. All of them had gray ear tags with 1305 on the tag. Two heifers were missing since March 13 and two of the heifers had the Johnes vaccination with the 1J6 tattoo in the ear. LBT has learned of 3 calves missing from Latimer, Iowa, since March 13, 2006. The three calves are all purebred Gelbvieh. Two of the calves were red-hided heifers, one was two weeks old, the other heifer was one and one-half weeks old. The third calf was identified as a black-hided bull calf about one week old, and it was a twin. At the time of the loss, each calf was wearing a yellow ear tag that indicated the calf's birth date and the number of its mother. A cash reward up to $1,000 will be paid by the Iowa Cattlemen's Association for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of any person involved in the theft, mutilation or malicious killing of cattle owned by an ICA member. LBT has learned of 6 head of cattle stolen from Beatrice, Nebraska, on Friday, February 10, 2006. There were two 4-year-old Charolais cows with a yellow 4 left shoulder, one had a yellow 8 left hip and one had yellow 9 left hip; one RWF cow with red pigment all the way to the eyes with a yellow 5 left shoulder and a yellow 8 left hip; one black cow with a yellow 7 left shoulder and a yellow 8 left hip; one gray Charolais cow with a yellow 6 left shoulder and a yellow 8 left hip; one black cow with a yellow 6 left shoulder and a yellow 8 left hip. All cows had federal back tags on the left shoulder, numbers 47BE5182, 47BE5184, 47BE5027, 47BE5039, 47BE5042 and 47BE5051, and dark ear tags in the left ear and steel brucellosis tags in their ears. Four of the cattle have a Lazy J connected 4 brand. The market has the brucellosis tag numbers. The market also believes that the cattle could be heading towards the Freemont, Nebraska, area. LBT has learned of 4 head of cattle and a livestock trailer missing since January 3, 2006 from Shelbyville, Tennessee. The trailer is a 1996 16 foot aluminum featherlite with one cut gate and Tennessee tag number T 654390 and VIN number 4FGL16206TA824488. The cattle are Shorthorn 3 pairs and one 10 month old heifer described below.
