Livestock Marketing Association is excited to offer live Internet broadcast and bidding for your sale as a service with membership. We are providing this new web based system to respond to the requests of members who wanted another option for broadcasting live and are striving to provide our members with a market-controlled system that will increase the visibility of the fixed facility livestock auctions, increase consignments and sales, while also protecting the privacy of your buyer information.

We’re confident you’ll find LMAauctions.com to be simple in set up and management. To get started simply answer the questions below. If you can successfully answer each it’s time to equip your market with the items listed on the equipment page. After you’ve successfully acquired the equipment, all that remains is a simple training session with an LMA representative. The estimated cost of setup for a market with no equipment is $3000.00. Prices can vary depending on the level of equipment you purchase and installation fees.

  1. Do you have or can you equip your market with high-speed Internet access?
    1. Our computer programmers recommend a DSL or Cable high-speed Internet connection with a 512 K upload speed. It is important to note that the speed we need at 512 is the upload speed. This will be the speed at which video and audio is pushed from your market out to the computers of potential buyers. The faster the upload speed, the better image your potential online buyers will see.
  2. Do you have a contact locally or within a reasonable distance that can serve as an equipment provider and servicing agent for your computer and camera needs?
    1. In order to provide our members with this service, LMA can not serve as an equipment sales or repair contact. I highly recommend that you create a relationship with a local computer equipment provider to purchase and install the required computers for this system, connect the audio and video and purchase and install the camera.
  3. Do you have a staff person who can be made responsible for “clerking” the online sale?
    1. To increase the participation and integrity of the live Internet broadcast of your sales it is highly recommended that you assign a staff person(s) to be responsible for entering any draft information on the online broadcast, push out the asking price along with the auctioneer and also serve as a “ring man” for online bidders. This person will be responsible for typing in the total head count, total weight, category and any additional comments if needed on to the online screen.
    2. This “online clerk” can be positioned in the auction block or in the seats in front of the auctioneer; whichever will best accommodate your sale. It is necessary that they be able to see the head count and weight information.
